Why your province matters

Federal tax is one part of the calculation. Provincial or territorial rates generally depend on where you live on December 31. A Winnipeg salary needs Manitoba rules; an Ontario salary needs Ontario rules. A federal-only result cannot compare take-home pay between them.

From bracket tax to a paycheque

Tax credits reduce the tax calculated from the bands. Employment pay also involves CPP or QPP and EI, with separate Quebec arrangements. RRSP deductions, other income and personal circumstances can change the outcome. Use CRA payroll tools when the question is what your employer should withhold.

Choose the right tax year

These are rates for income earned in 2026, normally reported on a return filed in 2027. Filing a return during 2026 usually means you are working with the previous income year.

Does this include Manitoba, Ontario or Quebec tax?

No. It shows the federal bands before credits. Use the linked CRA rate tables and payroll calculator for regional rules. Adding one provincial percentage to this result would not produce a reliable net salary.
