Work out your allowance first
The Personal Allowance is separate from the bands in this tool. It can be reduced for higher adjusted net income. Subtract only the allowance you qualify for before entering taxable income, rather than assuming everyone receives the full amount.
A UK label needs a country check
England, Wales and Northern Ireland use the bands displayed here for non-savings income. Scottish employment income requires a different schedule. Savings and dividend income have their own rules and are excluded.
From annual tax to monthly pay
National Insurance, pension contributions, student loans and payroll timing are outside this result. Dividing an annual tax amount by twelve does not reproduce PAYE withholding. The 2026–27 year runs from 6 April 2026 to 5 April 2027.
Does this calculate my take-home salary?
No. It is the income-tax-band step after allowances. It excludes National Insurance, pension deductions, student loans and tax-code adjustments. Use the official estimate service for the next step.
