A few things worth knowing
Clear answers before you plan around a number.
Is this calculator free?
Yes. You can use every calculator view without an account or payment. There are currently no advertisements or analytics scripts.
Who is the calculator designed for?
Single Australian residents aged 18–66, resident for the full financial year, with no dependants and salary income only. It assumes full-year Medicare eligibility. Check the full supported scope before using your estimate.
Will this match my payslip or tax return?
It estimates annual tax liability under the displayed assumptions. PAYG payroll withholding uses different schedules, and your return may include deductions, income or offsets outside this tool’s scope. Monthly, fortnightly and weekly figures divide the annual result into averages.
Are superannuation and HELP included?
Salary excludes employer super. The package view assumes your contract pays 12% of base salary into super. Turn on the study loan option to include a compulsory annual HELP repayment estimate. Superannuation is separate from take-home pay.
What happens when tax rules change?
Official sources are checked by a controlled update process. Unchanged evidence can renew verification automatically. Changed rules require independent validation; an AI suggestion cannot publish a new formula. See the update policy and change history.
Do you save my salary?
No. Your salary and options stay in this browser page and are not sent to our server, an AI service, or analytics. Refreshing resets your inputs. Read the privacy details.
